When you bury a secret

You cut a hole in your heart

And you cover it over

With cruelty

With loneliness

With lies

With whatever will keep it hidden

With whatever will keep it safe

No matter the cost

The danger is, if you keep it hidden long enough

When the truth finally comes to light

It will break your heart
